Biscoff cookies are also known as lotus Biscoff. Sweet and spicy Biscoff is so delicious that it will give you a pleasant taste. The taste is pretty different from regular cookies. 

When I say that the taste is different, I mean it. So, what exactly does Biscoff taste like?

The taste of Biscoff cookies is well-known for being sweet with notes of cinnamon and ginger. When used as a spread, it may provide a creamy, smooth texture,  resulting in the spiciness of the cookie. Particularly the Lotus Biscoff has a distinct taste and a crispy texture.

Because you may have an allergic reaction or inflammation to some raw elements. Biscoff is made from the right combination of carefully selected natural ingredients.

Ingredients used to make Biscoff cookies are: 

  • Wheat Flour
  • Soya Flour
  • Sugar
  • Vegetable Oils/Healthy Palm Oil/Rapeseed Oil/Sunflower Oil
  • Candy Sugar Syrup
  • Raising Agent (Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate)
  • Salt
  • Cinnamon
  • Emulsifier ( Soya Lecithin)
  • Acid (Citric Acid).

Not all oils mentioned above are used at the same time, though. All the ingredients are non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms). They do not contain artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, or animal-derived elements. 

Ingredients like brown sugar syrup, salt, cinnamon, and sodium bicarbonate are used as raising agents. Raising agents give biscuits a lighter texture.

How To Make Biscoff Cookies At Home 

You try preparing Biscoff-like cookies at home too. Sitting with friends or alone, enjoying the delicious caramelized butter cookies can be amazing. So now, let’s prepare our crunchy cookies at home. My given ingredients will be enough for 16-20 cookies. 

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups (10oz/282g) all-purpose flour
  2. 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  3. 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  4. 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  5. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  6. 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  7. 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  8. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  9. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  10. 1 cup (8oz/225g) butter at room temperature
  11. 1/4 cup (1 1/2oz/42g) brown sugar
  12. 1/2 cup (4oz/115g) sugar
  13. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cooking Instructions (Step by Step)

  • Mix the flour, spices, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and other ingredients in a medium-sized bowl.
  • Cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer set to low speed in a separate large bowl. Add vanilla extract now. 
  • Blend the flour mixture into the butter mixture until everything is thoroughly blended. The dough could seem crispy and dry.
  • Form the dough into a ball, cover it, and chill it for at least an hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius) as the cookie dough chills, then grease and line two cookie sheets.
  • Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/4 inch after it has chilled.
  • With the help of an offset spatula, carefully move each cut-out cookie to the baking sheet that has been previously prepared (this ensures the cookies keep their shape)
  • Until golden and brown, bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Then, take everything out of the oven and let it cool on a cooling rack.
  • These can be kept for up to 10 days when stored at a cool room temperature and covered in an airtight container.
